Le dessin représente des étudiants tenant à la main un tract et un drapeau. Il fait référence aux manifestations d’étudiants organisées en Belgique en lien avec les bouleversements socioculturels de mai 1968. Ces évé nements importants au niveau national ont influencé la politique nationale belge et les réformes gouvernementales successives il y a maintenant 50 ans. La marque d’atelier d’Utrecht, le caducée de Mercure, apparaît à gauche, de même que la marque du maître belge, les armoiries de la commune de Herzele. L’année d’émission 2018 et le code pays BE figurent également dans la partie gauche de la pièce, tout comme les initiales LL de M. Luc Luycx, qui a conçu le dessin de la pièce. Un amphithéâtre figure en arrière-plan en référence aux étudiants. L’anneau extérieur de la pièce représente les douze étoiles du drapeau européen.
The design represents students with a pamphlet and flag in their hands and refers to student demonstrations that took place in Belgium in connection with the sociocultural changes of May 1968. It was an important national event that shaped Belgium’s national politics and influenced subsequent Government reforms, now 50 years ago. The mintmark of Utrecht (the Mercury’s wand) is located on the left together with the Belgian mint master mark (the coat of arms of the municipality Herzele). The year mark 2018 and the country code BE are located at the left as well, just like the initials LL of the designer of the coin, Mr Luc Luycx. An auditorium marks the back, which is a reference to students. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
Das Motiv zeigt Studenten mit einem Pamphlet und einer Flagge in der Hand und bezieht sich auf Studentendemonstrationen, die in Belgien im Mai 1968 im Zusammenhang mit den soziokulturellen Veränderungen stattfanden. Diese nun 50 Jahre zurückliegenden Ereignisse waren von landesweiter Bedeutung und haben sich auf die belgische Politik und nachfolgende Staatsreformen ausgewirkt. Das Münzzeichen von Utrecht (Hermesstab) und das belgische Zeichen der Münzmeister (Wappen der Gemeinde Herzele) sind links abgebildet. Die Jahreszahl 2018 und der Ländercode BE befinden sich ebenfalls links, und unmittelbar darunter stehen die Initialen LL des Münzdesigners Luc Luycx. Im Hintergrund ist ein Auditorium zu sehen, das auf den studentischen Kontext verweist. Auf dem äußeren Münzring sind die zwölf Sterne der Europaflagge dargestellt.
